BIOGRAPHY
Originally from San Diego, Jamie Clayton moved to New York at age 19, with ambitions of becoming a professional makeup artist. In 2010, it was as a transgender woman that she co-hosted the makeover show ” TRANSform me” , produced and presented by Laverne Cox . The following year, her performance in two episodes of Hung , in the role of Kyla, also an openly trans character, was acclaimed. During the third season, she is one of the clients of the gigolo protagonist Ray ( Thomas Jane ).
Subsequently, Jamie Clayton joined the crime scene cleaning team in the web series ” Dirty Work” , and continued appearances on the small screen. In 2015, she landed the role of Nomi Marks, a transgender blogger and hacker from San Francisco, who discovers a mental connection with seven other people from around the world, in Sense8 . This Netflix production, created by Lily and Lana Wachowski , allows the actress to gain visibility, and, through a message of tolerance and love, to proudly defend the transgender community. Between the two seasons, Jamie Clayton appears in the casting of the very controversial The Neon Demon by Nicolas Winding Refn , in the shoes of a casting director. In 2017, she joined the five-star cast of the thriller The Snowman , including Michael Fassbender , Rebecca Ferguson , Charlotte Gainsbourg and JK Simmons .
