BIOGRAPHY
Jensen Ross Ackles is an American actor and director, born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, United States. Son of actor Alan Roger Ackles, Jensen began modeling in front of the camera from the age of 2 and by the time he was four he was frequently appearing in commercials for Walmart and Nabisco. He studied at Lloyd V. Beckner High School, where he began taking theater classes, in addition to excelling in various sports activities. On the recommendation of a friend, he was discovered by a group of producers, who advised him to move to Los Angeles, but Jensen rejected the idea.
He seriously thought about studying sports medicine but the idea of becoming an actor was too great, so, in the end, he decided to travel to Los Angeles and contact the producers who had offered him work in the city. He debuted, in a brief role, in the series Wishbone (1995), later appearing in Mr. Rhodes (1996-1997) and Cybill (1997). In 1997, Jensen joined the cast of the soap opera Days of Our Lives (1998-2000), for 18 episodes, for which he was nominated three times for the Emmy Awards.
Little by little, the actor began to make a name for himself on television, thanks to series such as Dawson’s Creek (2002-2003), Still Life (2003-2004) and Smallville (2004-2005). But it would be his next project that would give him enormous recognition: Dean Winchester, in the series Supernatural (2005-2018), a role that he has played over 297 episodes.
