Joe Kenda bio

Joe whose full name is Joseph Patrick Kenda was born November 14, 1946 in Pittsburgh, western Pennsylvania, grew up in the town of Herminie, still in western Pennsylvania, southeast of Pittsburgh, where he is born. He comes from a family whose men were mainly coal miners. His father, uncle and grandfather were all coal miners. Unfortunately, his grandfather died in an accident in a coal mine in 1933.

Joe Kenda was said to have a penchant for solving and solving criminal cases from an early age, especially when it involves murder. When he was young it was more fascinating, he probably didn’t know that he would have a career later in life.

The detective was educated at Greensburg Central Catholic High School and graduated in 1964. After graduation, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied political science and earned a bachelor’s degree before pursuing studies in international relations to earn his master’s degree at The Ohio State University. He graduated in 1970 and was ready for a career in the Foreign Service, but gave up on that idea after a confidential briefing with the CIA left him with nothing to be desired. Prior to all of this and immediately after college, he was married in 1967 to his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Mohler, whom he had already met during their high school days.

Police career

Having lost interest in the foreign service, Joe occupied himself with working in his father’s trucking company before moving to Colorado Springs in 1973 with his family. In Colorado Springs, he found the ideal profession for which his childhood fascination and interests were perfect for unraveling and solving crimes, especially homicides. So, Joe Kenda joined the Colorado Springs Police Department.

In the police department, he would have been quoted as: that he loved the job, it was no wonder that throughout his career he managed to solve a record number of 356 homicide cases, with a 92% closure rate out of a total of 387 homicide cases investigated. He attributed his high success rate in solving homicide cases to his primary ability to know when people were lying and to be a “good student of nature”.

Detective Joe retired in 1996 following complaints made to him by his wife over fears he was murdered in the line of duty.
