BIOGRAPHY
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Joshua Jackson grew up in California. When his parents divorced, he returned to Canada with his mother, Fiona, a casting director, and his younger sister Aislaeigh. Very early on, Joshua discovered his vocation for comedy and decided to become an actor. He began by filming in numerous commercials and performing on stage in shows. He made his first steps on screen at the age of 13 with the film Crooked Hearts .
During adolescence, proposals flood in. He becomes Charlie Conway in Les Petits champions alongside Emilio Estevez . A success which allows him to set the table again for a 2nd and 3rd part. In Digger , he befriends a boy who is about to die. With no less than 10 films to his credit at just 19 years old, the young actor is the envy of many. International fame, however, arrived with Kevin Williamson ‘s series for teenagers , Dawson , which left its mark on a whole generation of viewers. The actor plays the role of the rebel Pacey Witter during the 6 seasons of the show. This popularity allowed him to land roles in big productions such as Sexe intentions or The Skulls . The mixed success of this last feature film put a brake on his career. The actor must therefore be content with minor roles in more modest productions. At the end of Dawson , he still has the luxury of playing opposite the greatest: Dennis Hopper in Americano , Harvey Keitel in The Shadow Dancer or even Donald Sutherland in Aurora Borealis . In 2007, he shared the poster of Bobby with none other than Anthony Hopkins , Demi Moore and Sharon Stone , to name a few.
The year 2008 marked another turning point in Joshua Jackson’s career: he was chased by the ghosts of Masayuki Ochiai in the horrific remake Spirits . And on September 9, 2008, the Fox network launched the new fantasy series by JJ Abrams called Fringe , preceded by an impressive media buzz. In this show compared to X-Files , Joshua Jackson plays the son of a brilliant scientist forced to collaborate with the FBI to elucidate some mysterious cases to say the least.
