Joyner Lucas was born Gary Maurice Lucas Jr.17. August 1988 in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA to an African American family. The aspiring rapper went through South High Community School in Worcester.
His passion for hip hop developed when he was a child; He listened to rappers like Eminem, Method Man, Nas and The Notorious BIG. Their music influenced Joyner a lot and at the age of 10 he started rapping his own songs. He didn’t just come into the industry with his current stage name, Joyner Lucas. His first recording was made under the name G-Storm. However, he would later change it to Future Joyner in 2017 before adopting his current stage name Joyner Lucas after the name Future is popular and dominant from an Atlanta-based American rapper.

Following his fourth mixtape on November 28, 2017, Lucas’ single titled I’m Not Racist was released ; The video was uploaded to YouTube and has had millions of views. There was a strong message about race and society. The track is considered Lucas’ best project to date.
On February 25, 2018, Lucas and Chris Brown announced their project titled Angels and Demons; two singles, Stranger Things and I’m Not Dying from the collaboration, were released on February 26, 2018 and May 2, 2018 respectively. He also dropped another single titled Frozen on April 1, 2018. Lucas appeared in Eminem’s album titled “Kamikaze” which he presented on the track Lucky You . The song debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. On October 17, 2018, he released another single titled I Love. He has reconfirmed his willingness to release a studio album titled “ADHD” in 2019.
