Beginnings and career of Justin Turner

Turner is a boy from California. he was born in LongBeach, November 23, 1984. He grew up in the state where he attended Mayfair High School in Lakewood. Apparently, his love for baseball started before he even knew he was going to turn pro. He played with his high school baseball team throughout his stay in Lakewood. As a result of his efforts, he was awarded the All-Suburban First Team Trophy three times as a second baseman and short baseman.

In his senior year, he took it up a notch, hitting .514 in the league. The Mayfair High baseball team went all the way to the championship title that year. During the same season, Justin also earned Most Valuable Player honors for his outstanding contribution to the title season.

After graduating from high school, he then went on to major in kinesiology at California State University in Fullerton. Turner wasted no time, claiming the second base position shortly after joining the college baseball team, the Titans, as a rookie. American sports magazine Baseball America earned him All-American Award honors for his freshman effort in 2003. He was also named to the 2003 College World Series All-Tournament Team List. , this time as a short-stop.

Till today fans of the College World Series as the guy who was hit in the face by a fastball after going 3 for 3 for 3, one of which was a home run. In the following year’s College World Series edition, Turner and the Titans would defeat the Texas championship title in a two-game final showdown.

In 2005 Major League Baseball draft, Turner drawn by the New York Yankees in the 29th round. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be as he didn’t sign with them. The following year, he was drafted, this time in the 7th round by the Cincinnati Reds. The team also added a $50,000 bonus to the Turner contingent, which allowed him to get his hands on the pen.

Turner showed spades for his talent, but sadly reserved only for the Rookie League affiliate Billings Mustangs. During his time here, he played all four infield positions and also the outfield. He has, however, made his mark this season by recording a .338 batting average plus a .921 OPS average. He finished the 2008 season with Minor League teams Chattanooga Lookouts, where he hit a .289 batting average and .792 OPS.

Justin Turner, Ryan Freel and Brandon Waring were traded by the Reds to the Baltimore Orioles in December 2008. It was here that Turner finally made his major league debut. He participated in the Triple-A rated Norfolk Tides for the 2009 season, finishing with a .300 average and a .749 OPS.

On September 8, 2009, the Baltimore Orioles bought his contract and played him the next day. He made his first big hit at the iconic Yankees Stadium just three days after his debut. He finished the season having been used in 12 games and going 3-18. The following season, he played 17 games with the team, hitting .111 (3 of 27 in a draw).

The New York Mets claimed Turner from the Baltimore Orioles in May 2010 and offered him an option in Triple A’s minor league professional Buffalo Bisons. A month later, he was recalled by the Mets. His first major baseball home game of his career was against the Houston Astros a year later on May 15, 2011. He scored a three-inning run that day, collecting a 5-RBI. The following week, in a Subway Series game, his seventh straight for the Mets, he collected another RBI. At the end of the month, he became the first New York Mets player to win NL Rookie Player of the Month.

He was officially converted to an all-around inside utility the following year but still played shortstop for a time that season. At the end of the 2013 season, Justin was fired by the Mets, making him a free agent.

During this period, he was spotted by the bench coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers while playing in an alumni game at California State University. In February 2014, he signed a contract with the Dodgers in the minor leagues. On March 16, he was added to their Major League roster.

The player’s versatility ultimately worked in his favor, as he played 109 games for the LA Dodgers in the 2014 season. He averaged a team-leading .340, thanks to his seven home runs with 43 RBIs on a total of 288 throws. In January 2015, he was rewarded by the Dodgers with a one-year contract worth $2.5 million, after which he became the undisputed starter for third base. He finished the 2015 season with an average of .294. He also hit 16 home runs and 60 RBIs, a career high.

In 2015, Turner had to undergo surgery on his left knee, after which he signed another one-year contract worth $5.1 million. During the 2016 season, Justin played in a career-high 151 games, 27 total hits, 90 RBIs and a .275 batting average.

Finally, in December 2016, Turner was awarded his first multi-year contract – a four-year deal worth $64 million. Unfortunately, he picked up an injury – a strained hamstring – at the start of the season after a blistering start. The injury sidelined him from mid-May to early June. A month later, he was named to the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game team. He finished the 2017 season with an average of .322, .415 OPS, 71 RBI and 21 runs at the House. Turner was also named MVP along with Chris Taylor for the 2017 National League Championship Series. However, he didn’t let his talent down in the 2017 World Series.

On March 19, 2018, Turner suffered another injury after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch during a practice game. Luckily the injury didn’t require surgery but it meant he would be out for the start of the season.

Family and relationships. Does he have a wife or a girlfriend?

The quick answer is both; Turner had a girlfriend, and now he has a wife. The long answer is that his girlfriend and his wife are one and the same. Turner’s then-girlfriend Kourtney Pogue has been with him for a reasonable portion of his career. Eventually, Justin decided to pop the question and make it official. They tied the knot in December 2017.

Not much is known about Justin Turner’s family. Only the names of his parents are known: John Turner and Betsy Turner. He also has a brother, a younger sister.
