Kevin Scott Nash was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 9, 1959, he attended high school at Aquin High School. While studying psychology at the University of Tennessee, Kevin played for the school’s basketball team. After his time in Tennessee, he started his professional career in Germany, playing for different teams until his career was cut short by an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. At the time, he was playing for the Giessen 46ers, a German professional basketball team.
Between basketball and wrestling, the would-be professional wrestler has held multiple jobs. He was a NATO member, an assembly line worker at Ford Motor Company, and a strip club manager.
Professional wrestling career
Nash’s professional career began in 1990 with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Throughout his time in WCW, he found himself on the short-lived tag team known as the Master Blasters and part of a large stable known as Half a Ton of Saint. hell. For his singles career, he wrestled under various gimmicks, including The Master Blaster, Oz, and Vinnie Vegas.
Leaving WCW, he joined the WWF under the stage name Diesel (Big Daddy Cool) in 1993. Nash teamed with Shawn Michaels as Team Two Guys With Attitudes. Together they won the WWF Tag Team Championship. Nash and Scott Hall formed the tag team The Outsiders and together they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship. Both men were also part of the nwo stable along with Hulk Hogan and Sean Waltman, while the trio of Nash, Hall and Sean were also known as the Wolfpac in 1997. After the nWo ranks disbanded, Kevin and Hogan respectively became the leaders of nWo WolfPac and nWo Hollywood, recruiting new fighters into their ranks.
Nash won his first WCW World Heavyweight Championship title in 1998 against Goldberg and won it a total of 9 times with the promotion, his last title in 2001.
Following the WWF’s acquisition of WCW, Nash returned to the WWF in 2002. During his second stint as a promotion contender, he suffered a long injury in the WWF in January 2004. Kevin married Tamara in 1988 and they stayed together until 2000 when their union fell on hard times. They broke up but eventually patched things up and have been together ever since. Their union produced one child, a son named Tristen Nash. He was born on June 12, 1996.
It seems that Nash’s family has its own demons as well. in December 2014, Nash was arrested for severely beating his then eighteen-year-old son Tristen. Further investigation saw police return to Nash’s residence to arrest Tristen for beating his mother. No charges were filed against the wrestler, as it was found that he was only defending his wife during the altercation.
