Keylor Navas is a Costa Rican footballer born on August 15. ^th in December 1986. He is currently active with Real Madrid and the Costa Rica national team, two giants of Spanish football.

Biography (Age)

Navas began his professional football career at Saprissa where he made his professional debut on November 6th ^, 2005. He remained the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for his final two seasons, winning six domestic championships and the Champions Cup CONCACAF in 2005. Navas then moved to Spain in July 2010 where he signed with a Segundo Division team in Spain called Albacete..

Keylor Navas was a regular performer at the Spanish club, registering 36 out of a total of 42 appearances in his first season at the club. Despite his best efforts, that didn’t stop his team from being relegated from the division after finishing last on the table. He eventually made it to La Liga, joining Spanish club Levante UD on what was officially a one-year loan deal for the 2011/2012 campaign. Navas then made his debut for the club on 13th ^May 2012 in what was the final round of La Liga fixtures of the season, facing Athletic Bilbao in a 3-0 win which secured the club’s first qualification. His exploits at Levante saw the Valencian club sign a three-year contract with Navas in July of the same year as a replacement for Spanish goalkeeper Gustavo Munua. Initially named substitute goalkeeper, Navas quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper in the 2013-14 season and was named the league’s best goalkeeper alongside Atletico Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois and goalkeeper Willy Caballero of FC Málaga. Navas went on to win the award, and in March 2014 he made Spanish football history by becoming the first goalkeeper to win La Liga Player of the Month.

Following their exploits at the 2014 FIFA World Cup with their home country Costa Rica, Real Madrid took advantage of the $12m release clause in their contract to sign Costa Rica’s 3rd tier  August 2014. The deal was a 6 year contract. He first signed as a substitute for club legend Iker Casillas and had to sit on the bench on his first call at Cardiff against fellow club Sevilla.

He made his debut for the club on September 23rd against Elche ^. It was only when long-serving Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas left the 2015-2016 La Liga season that Navas was installed as the team’s undisputed number 1. He was also part of the famous deal involving Real to trade Navas to United in exchange for Spain number 1 David De Gea.

The move ultimately fell through when both clubs failed to meet the Spanish deadline. In his first season as a number 1, Navas made history by becoming the first Madrid goalkeeper to keep the clean sheet in 8 of his first Champions League appearances. He recently joined Real Madrid’s most successful side when the Spanish giants became the first team in 27 years to retain their European crown in the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons.

Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League in the 2016/2017 season and continued their quest for an unprecedented third straight Champions League win by qualifying for the 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League final in Kyiv, with Navas playing a leading role in achieving this feat.

Keylor Navas married his hot Latina wife Andrea Salas on Christmas Day – December 25th ^, 2009. She is a successful model and was crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic in 2006. She has appeared in various magazines, the most popular being the SoHo magazine. Andrea is a well-known Christian, as is her husband Navas. She was told she was giving up modeling in search of something bigger and chose spirituality to achieve happiness and entered a Christian group where she reportedly met Navas. The couple welcomed their first child, Mateo, who was born in March 2014.

Navas’ position as a goalkeeper requires height like an edge. Although he stands at 1.85m, which is around 6ft 1in, he is still considered shorthand for a goalkeeper on a roster. Despite this, he is a big obstacle to overcome with this height against the football players of the opposing teams.
