Khalil Delshon Mack aka Khalil Mack was born on February 22, 1991 and raised by his parents in Fort Pierce, a beautiful city on the east coast of Florida. His parents, Yolanda and Sandy Mack Sr., were high school sweethearts before eventually getting married and starting a family. The football player comes from a family of educated people, and his mother works as a teacher. Khalil’s father, on the other hand, is a program specialist. In addition to Khalil, the couple have two other sons, Sandy Jr. and LeDarius.
Even though his father wasn’t an athlete, he probably noticed Kahlil’s talent as a child and helped direct his steps towards becoming an athlete, introducing him to the sport when he was five years old.
For the remainder of his high school career, Khalil Mack played basketball in hopes of earning a college scholarship in the sport, but before his sophomore season he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon and his hopes were dashed. Another opportunity presented itself, however, when his high school football coach, Waides Ashmon, signed him to the sport after his injury and assured the young lad and his parents that he would receive a scholarship.
Despite being a newcomer to the sport, Mack140 had tackles, including eight losses and nine sacks in his senior year. He was a third-team All-State and first-team All-Area in Florida. He also helped lead the Panthers to a district championship. At the end of his high school career, Rivals.com ranked him as a mere two-star recruit.
Through hard work and sheer determination, “Bombshell Man” proved himself on his high school football team, earning him a scholarship from the State University of New York at Buffalo to play Division I football.
Khalil Mack did not play his freshman year after receiving a redshirt, made the starting lineup through the 2010 season and was among the most prolific defensemen in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). He recorded a total of 68 tackles, four-and-a-half sacks, ten pass breakups, eight quarterback rushes and two forced fumbles. He also received third-team honors at all conferences.
The following 2011 season, he played with more panache en route to first-team All-MAC. He had a total of 64 tackles (including 20 and 1/2 for the loss), 5 1/2 sacks, an interception with 2 pass breaks, 13 quarterback rushes and 5 forced fakes. In 2012, he earned the all-conference first-team honors for the second time after recording a career-high 94 tackles, tackles for losses (21 – fourth in the nation), 8 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 4 quarterback rushes and 4 had forced fumble.
In 2013, Khalil Mack won a number of awards including the CFPA Linebacker Trophy for the season. He was also the first Bull to win MAC Defensive Player of the Year in Buffalo history within the MAC, and was also named a junior team All-American by the Associated Press. The outsider played 13 games in the season and made 100 tackles, including 19 losing tackles, 10.5 sacks, three interceptions and five forced fumbles.
At the end of his college career, Khalil was ranked as the team’s top football player in Division I program history.
His NFL career
With such an excellent record built during his college days, it’s no surprise that Khalil Mack was the fifth pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected in the first round by the Oakland Raiders. In doing so, he became the highest Buffalo player ever selected and the first (and so far only) to be selected in the first round.
During his rookie season, the shining star recorded a total of 76 tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble in all 16 games. He finished the season as the third AP Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year (according to analysts at ESPN NFL Live), and was one of three linebackers selected to USA Football’s sixth All-Fundamentals team.
The 2015 season was even more productive for the footballer when he was named the NFL’s number one “making the jump” player. Before the start of the season, he switched from linebacker to right-back and played in both positions. On December 13, Mack’s five sacks set a Raiders franchise record set by defensive end Howie Long in 1993. A week later, it was announced that Kahlil Mack would be going to the Pro Bowl along with two of his teammates. Mack became the first player in NFL history to make the AP All-Pro First Team in two positions in the same year. His peers in the league also ranked him #13 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016
During the 2016 season, Mack recorded 11. He was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year of the Season and was named a Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro for the second straight year. Other players also ranked him fifth among the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017 as the top-ranked defenseman.
The Raiders exercised the fifth-year option on Mack’s contract in the 2017 season and he was called up to the Pro Bowl for the third straight year.
On September 1, 2018, the Raiders traded Mack shortly thereafter, signing him to a six-year, $141 million contract with a $90 million guarantee. This made him the highest paid defenseman in NFL history.

Recent reports state that the Chicago BearsOutside linebacker is in a relationship with Angela Simmons, daughter of former Run-DMC rapper Rev Run (Joseph Simmons). Speculation began after the two were reportedly spotted at a nearby mall while the young woman was visiting Chicago.
