The foreign correspondent was born in 1982, in Illinois, United States. He has not disclosed his date of birth. He was born to parents Carol and Mark Vittret. Leland grew up in st. Louis, Missouri, along with his sister, Liberty Vittert, who is a television chef, owns his show ‘Great American Cookbook.’ She is also a professor of mathematics at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
Also, in an interview, he has said that his nickname is ‘Lucky’ because Leland was born after many complications. As for his education, he had attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. And he graduated in Economics and Broadcast Journalism in 2005.
