Maria Shriver was born – Maria Owings Shriver – in Chicago, Illinois on November 6, 1955 to US politicians Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Her mother Eunice also worked as an activist. The second child and only daughter in the family, Shriver is a niece of former US President John F. Kennedy; US Senator Robert F. Kennedy; US Senator Ted Kennedy and other prominent siblings.
