BIOGRAPHY
Son of famous American actor Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sara Kapfer, Mason Gooding attends Windward High School in California. At this time, his two passions are football and especially theater. After high school, he enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in writing and psychology. He dropped out of school during his first year to become an actor.
Mason found his first role in an episode of Spring Street in 2017. A year later, he appeared in Ballers with Dwayne Johnson . Favoring the small screen, he is seen in the series Good Doctor and Star Trek: Picard . On the cinema side, he plays in the comedies Booksmart and Flacons d’amour on Netflix. In 2020, his notoriety increased when he played a regular character in the teen drama Love, Victor.
In this television spin-off of the 2018 film Love, Simon available in France on Disney, Mason Gooding plays Andrew, a high school student who is a pretty hateful basketball fan, but who, little by little, seeks to become a better person. At the same time, his film roles became more important, as evidenced by his performances in the SF comedy Moonshot, the romance I Want You Back and the thriller Fall.
Above all, Mason Gooding slips into the skin of one of the young people confronted by the terrifying Ghostface in the fifth opus of Scream which is released in 2022. Given the success of the film, the Los Angeles native reprises his character (which otherwise survives at the end of the fifth part) for Scream VI the following year.
