Matthew Dowd is an American political consultant who works for ABC News as a political analyst. During the 2004 presidential campaign, he worked as chief strategist for Bush-Cheney. In 2006, he also worked as a strategist for former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger upon his re-election.

Dowd often uses his Twitter account to broadcast his opinions and views on political, social as well as religious issues, most of which have made him a subject of annoyance. His skill as a political strategist was harshly criticized after he sadly predicted that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 US presidential election by a larger margin than Obama won in 2012.

His words said;

“I think she has about a 95 chance of winning this election, and I think she’ll have a higher margin than Barack Obama did in 2012. A higher margin. She will win with more than 5 million votes. She will earn a higher percentage. And, interestingly, she will have a more diverse coalition than Barack Obama’s when the final vote is taken into account. Every piece of data points in that direction.

As a supporter of the far right and the far left, Matthew Dowd now considers himself an independent.
