Matthew McGrory was born on May 17, 1973 in Pennsylvania, USA to Maureen and William McGrory. His father was a professional accountant and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. Young McGrory grew up in West Chester, in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He was interested in the legal profession and dreamed of becoming a lawyer. This interest led him to Widener University, a private university in Chester, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in law. In some cases, however, he did not make it to law school, instead studying at West Chester University. In line with his longstanding interest in legal affairs and the judiciary, he studied forensic science and earned a degree in justice.
