Michael Gargiulo is an American serial killer known by the names “Hollywood Ripper”, “Chiller Killer” and “The Boy Next Door Killer”. In addition, he is a convicted rapist who moved to Southern California in the 1990s. He has been tried for killing 18-year-old Tricia Pacaccio, stabbing Ashley Ellerin and Maria Bruno 47 times, many more.
According to the BBC on August 15, 2019, a “stone cold serial killer” who preyed on women in planned attacks in Hollywood was found guilty of two murders. Although he has convicted on all charges against him, however, sentencing for him in California has been delayed due to defense motions as of March 2020. Michael Gargiulo: biography, family, career
He was born on February 15, 1976 as Michael Thomas Gargiulo in Glenview, Illinois, United States. He has not revealed information about his parents, siblings or education. In addition, he moved to Southern in the 1990s to pursue his Hollywood career, and also auditioned for a few roles.
Crimes and arrests:
The Glenview, Illinois native has been arrested for murder and sexual assault. In 1993, he stabbed his neighbor Tricia Pacaccio, 18, whose body was found the next morning by his father. However, he later fled to Los Angeles in 1998, where he speculated to escape the scrutiny of the Illinois police. After moving to Los Angeles, he later committed two other murders and one attempted murder.
In 2001, he stabbed Ashley Ellerin 47 times on her first date night with actor Ashton Kutcher, which was never a success. She then committed sin again in 2005 when she stabbed her neighbor Maria Bruno 17 times at her home in California. After that, she again tried to stab her neighbor Michelle Murphy in 2008 in Santa Monica. However, this time she cannot succeed in her action, as she Maria fought back against the bloody attack.
Additionally, he was arrested by the Santa Monica Police Department on June 6, 2008. He was then charged with the first-degree murder of Tricia Pacaccio in July 2011. Police did not connect him to the other murders at the time, however. 10 more women were later alleged by authorities at the Los Angeles County Jail.
After several delays in his trial, he was brought into court on May 2, 2019 when actor Ashton Kutcher also gave his testimony. In August, he was found guilty on all counts, and the sanction phase of the California trial began in October 2019. But as of March 2020, sentencing for him was delayed due to defense motions. However, at the 2019 trial, the jury recommended the death penalty after several hours of deliberation.
