BIOGRAPHY
Miranda Richardson left high school at 17 and after some hesitation enrolled in drama school. In three years, she successfully completed her course and began her career on stage in Manchester then London. In the early 1980s, she made a few appearances on television before making her big screen debut in 1985 in Mike Newell ‘s A Crime for a Passion in which she played a hostess in a nightclub frequented by London’s high society. This very successful first film allowed him to shoot Empire of the Sun two years later under the direction of Steven Spielberg . Her partners include Christian Bale and John Malkovich . Her career took off again in 1992. That year, she stood out for three compositions. Her performance as a deceived wife in Fatale earned her an Oscar nomination.
