Morgan Ortagus recently attracted a great deal of public attention after her episode on Fox’s The Five program, in which she impressively tackled the issue of Trump’s proposed impeachment. However, the American anti-terrorism expert and television personality has been a public figure for many years. Morgan Ortagus – biography, age
She was born Morgan Deann Ortagus on July 10, 1982 in Auburndale, Florida, USA. Her parents were Denise C. and Ronald E. Ortagus. While her father ran a cleaning and restoration company, her mother worked as an office manager.
Ortagus graduated from Florida Southern College, graduating in 2005 with a B.Sc. in political science. She later continued her education at Johns Hopkins University, earning a Masters in Government in 2009. She then earned a Masters in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in 2013.
Prior to her first degree in the US, Republican Rep. Adam Putman hired Morgan Ortagus as one of the members of his campaign team for the 2004 congressional election. In 2006, Morgan was appointed Senate Press Secretary by KT McFarland. In 2007, USAID employed Ortagus as a Public Affairs Officer. She served in that position until 2008, when she was an Intelligence Analyst with the US Treasury Department and served in the Treasury Department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis. Morgan Ortagus later became Deputy Financial Attaché at the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their task was mainly to prevent illegal financial flows.
Ortagus remained in the private sector until 2019, when she succeeded Heather Nauert as US State Department spokeswoman. In addition to the public position, she continues to serve as national co-chair of Maverick PAC and senior advisor to the Ernst & Young Geostrategic Business Group.
Her husband
Morgan Ortagus married Jonathan Weinberger on May 11, 2013. The ceremony of marriage took place in the Washington DC Supreme Court, right in the chambers of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who presided over it. Three years before their wedding, Morgan and Jonathan become engaged after the latter popped the big question in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington, DC.
Jonathan Weinberger graduated from American University, Washington, DC with a bachelor’s degree in law. He later went to Georgetown University, where he earned a Master of Laws in International Finance. Weinberger is currently senior vice president of the US Chamber of Commerce’s Global Innovation Policy Center (GIPC). He previously served as White House Associate General Counsel and Executive Secretary on Trade (2008-2012) and as Executive Secretary of the US Treasury Department (2000-2003).
Meanwhile, Morgan Ortagus was previously married to Joshua Dobbs, a US Navy officer, but they divorced after a few years for unknown reasons.
