BIOGRAPHY
The actress, Natasha Jane Richardson , was born on May 11, 1963 in Marylebone, London, England, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of director and producer Tony Richardson and actress Vanessa Redgrave, sister of actress Joely Richardson, niece of actors Corin Redgrave and Lynn Redgrave, and granddaughter of actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson. She studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, she participated in plays such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Hamlet” and “High Society”. For her performance as Sally Bowles in Sam Cabades’ production of “Cabaret,” she won the 1998 Tony, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League and Drama Desk Awards for Best Actress in a Musical. She made her big screen debut in the film Gothic (1986). Her performance caught the attention of director Paul Schrader, who cast her in the lead role of her in Patty Hearst (1988). Natasha participated in films such as A Month in the Country (1987), Creators of Shadows (1989), The Favor, the Clock and the Big Fish (1991), The Maiden’s Tale (1990), Success by the Hair (2001) , Chelsea Walls (2001), among many others. She also participated in television projects such as Ghosts, Hostages (1992), Great Performances: Suddenly, Last Summer (1993), Zelda (1993) and Haven (2001). She died on March 18, 2009 at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States after falling and hitting her head while skiing in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada. She was married to actor Liam Neeson, with whom she had two children.
