Nayyera Haq was born on October 1, 1981. She grew up on Staten Island, in southwestern New York City. She attended the University of Michigan where she earned a degree in history. Dissatisfied with her studies, and still driven by the values ​​her parents instilled in her from childhood, Haq decided to further her education by earning a master’s degree in law and journalism from the prestigious Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC.
