The actor was born in Vancouver,Canada. He was born on October 21, 1997. Nick has French, Jewish and German heritage through his parents. He was born to his father Eric Wolfhard. Eric lives as a popular Canadian screenwriter and also has a deep interest in researching and verifying Aboriginal land claims. He has a little brother, Finn Wolfhard, who is also an actor and more established in the industry than Nick. Nothing is known about his mother.

Nick Wolfhard began his career in 2013 when he appeared in his first project Aftermath. On the film, he shared the set with the likes of Karen Ballantyne, Tristan Shire and Chris Ballas. He played the younger version of Tristan Shire’s character James. The following year he was on Gordon Crum Under Locker, an animated film that tells the story of a curious boy who accidentally turns his parents into mummies. He voiced the character Danny on the project.

His next project in 2018 was Howard Lovecraft and the Kingdom of Madness as the voice of William Dyer. The animated film follows an adventurer named Howard Lovecraft who embarks on a quest that takes him to Antarctica to prevent the awakening of a cosmic entity known as Cthulhu. On the adventure he leads a group of adults including his father, uncle and a university professor.

In 2019, Nick Wolfhard performed in his sixth voicing project. He voiced one of the main characters, Jack Sullivan, in the animated comedy The Last Children on Earth. The story was about a group of teenagers fighting zombies that was the ripple effect of a monster apocalypse. He worked with the likes of Bruce Campbell, Keith David and Rosario Dawson on the project.
