Legendary music icon Paul McCartney became a household name in England as singer and bassist for the award-winning rock band; The Beatles. He is best known for his exceptional songwriting skills and talent, having often been the brains behind most of The Beatles’ lyrics.

The 18-time Grammy Award winner has also dabbled in creative arts and filmmaking, having produced a slew of films and documentaries, most notably Greetings From Me on Broad Street and The Real Buddy Holly Story. All of his distinguished achievements in the entertainment industry have earned him a Knighthood of the Crown of England and two inductions into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The famous singer was born into the family of James and Mary McCartney on June 18, 1942 at Walton Hospital, Liverpool, England. As he would later be, his father was a musician whilst his mother worked as a midwife/nurse at Walton Hospital in Liverpool. He has two siblings; a younger brother named Michael and an adopted sister named Ruth.

Paul McCartney attended two different schools looking for a successful completion of his undergraduate education these are Stock Wood Road Primary School in Speke and Joseph Williams Junior School in Belle Vale. Unfortunately, his mother gave in at a very young age when McCartney was 14 after mastectomy complications.

A few years later, in 1957 to be exact,McCartney came into contact with John Lennon, who at the time was the leader of a popular musical band called The Quarrymen. He then joined the band as their rhythm guitarist before Harrison and Stuart Sutcliffe later joined and the band renamed themselves The Beatles in 1960. and “In my life”. The group existed for ten years before going their separate ways.

This paved the way for McCartney to marry his second wife; Heather Mills, an anti-landmine activist and former model. Mills gave birth to a baby girl named Beatrice Milly in 2003. Three years later, the two went their separate ways. On October 9, 2011, McCartney exchanged vows again with now-wife Nancy Shevell at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London.

Paul McCartney now has a total of eight grandchildren; Grandsons Alistair Donald, Eliott Donald, Beckett Robert Lee Willis, Sam and Sid Aboud, and grandsons Bailey Linda Olwyn and Reiley Dilys Stella.
