BIOGRAPHY
After attending a business school and doing various odd jobs, Ramzy, whose real name is Ramzy Bedia, met Eric Judor in 1994 , with whom he founded the comedy duo Eric and Ramzy . Very quickly, the two friends decided to enter the world of entertainment. In 1996, they found success on stage while diversifying into radio and television. Through their famous show Les Mots d’Eric et Ramzy , they began to make their style known – a mixture of nonsense and stupidity – which they then broadcast through the hospital series H.
In 1998, Ramzy and his accomplice Eric appeared for the first time in the credits of a film, in The Sky, the Birds and… Your Mother! But it was in 2001 that Charles Nemes offered them a feature film that matched their crazy humor: La Tour Montparnasse infernale , in which the duo played with the action hero film Crystal Trap . The lucrative comedy (more than 2 million admissions) will lead to a sequel in 2016, La Tour 2 Infernale Control . In 2004, Eric and Ramzy were in the spotlight three times: as very special agents in the spy comedy Double Zero , as Dalton under the direction of Philippe Haim , and as finned heroes in the animated film Gang of Sharks , for which they are dubbing in French.
Although the two friends rarely tour without each other, Ramzy nevertheless tries his hand at a few solo forays. In 1999, he starred in the short film Rêve de nightmare , with Jamel Debbouze . The following year, he was chosen to play a role in Old school and then, in 2005, played for the first time in a dramatic comedy: Bled number one . However, where Ramzy is, Eric is never far away. Thus, 2007 saw the comedic duo’s big return to the cinema with Steak , an offbeat and absurd comedy by Quentin Dupieux , totally marked by the Eric & Ramzy style .
After a new detour through the world of animation ( Cinderella & Prince (not too) Charming and the Moot-Moot series ), Ramzy, always accompanied by Eric, goes behind the camera for the first time on the occasion of Seuls Two , where the duo moves alone in the middle of the completely deserted streets of Paris. They also appear in Neuilly his mother!, where Ramzy plays the deceased father of little Sami, before playing alone in Le Concert , as the owner of the restaurant “Le trou normand”. More seriously, he then shot under the direction of his partner Anne Depetrini and put on the costume of an emergency surgeon for the needs of a film on ordinary racism, Is there any ham left? . A brief parenthesis, since the actor returns the year after the offbeat comedy and his partner Eric Judor, in Halal State Police .
The years go by and Ramzy remains as versed in comedy as ever, taking part alongside Booder in the police parody Beur sur la ville , before playing a small role in Au bistro du coin then playing opposite Kaïra in the film same name. With his growing popularity, his status as a national star soon no longer needed to be proven since he even played his own role in the political satire Hénaut Président , by Michel Muller . He then found the elite of the French comedy scene in Les Seigneurs , where he shared the bill with Franck Dubosc , Gad Elmaleh and Omar Sy . But even if comedy undoubtedly remains his favorite field, that does not prevent the actor from making regular forays into more serious registers ( Des ventscontrates , Vandal ).
Ramzy then stars in the big hit 2015 The New Adventures of Aladdin worn by the young French star of the moment Kev Adams , before reuniting with Franck Gastambide in his new crazy comedy Pattaya . The actor then goes behind the camera for the first time with Hibou . In this comedy in which he also plays the main role, Ramzy plays Rocky, a discreet man. He is happy but does not exist in anyone’s eyes. One evening when he came home, he discovered a “Grand Duke” owl on his sofa staring at him intensely. He understands that he must act. The actor also appears in the latest Claude Lelouch , To Each His Own Life .
In 2017, Ramzy starred in two popular comedies, Marry me mon pote by Tarek Boudali and Coexistence by Fabrice Eboué. In this latest film, Eric Judor’s ex-friend slips into the shoes of a false imam who becomes a singing star in the company of a priest and a rabbi. The following year, the artist was the big baddie of The Adventures of Spirou and Fantasio in the costume of Zorglub. He also makes an appearance in Taxi 5 . If his favorite genre remains comedy ( Alad’2 , Rendez-vous chez les Malawa , Forte , T’as pécho?, Zaï zaï zaï zaï , Kung Fu Zohra , etc.), Ramzy delivers a memorable performance as a doctor immersed in full Algerian civil war in the drama Terminal Sud .
Also fond of dramatic comedies ( Lola and her brothers , La Lutte des classes , Merveilles à Montfermeil ), he plays a murdered policeman in Lost Ball and a gangster in the zany one in This music plays for no one . At the start of 2023, he slips into the skin of Epidemaïs in Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom , the fifth live-action film dedicated to the famous little Gaul.
