Producer, director, writer and actress, Rashida Leah Jones, was born on February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is the daughter of musician and producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She grew up with her older sister, Kidada, and her five half-siblings on her father’s side.
At a very early age she showed artistic abilities, since she was a child she plays the piano, composes and sings. When she was 10, her parents divorced and she went to live with her mother in Brentwood. She entered Harvard University to study Law, but soon lost interest in it and began studying Theater. Years later she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion.
In 1997 she debuted in the television mini-series The Last Don and the following year she participated in the film Myth America. She continued to participate in projects such as East of A , If These Walls Could Talk 2 , and Little Black Book . The role with which her career took off was that of Louisa Fenn in the television series Boston Public (2000), which earned her a nomination for the NAACP Image Award, an award given only to actors of color who are exceptional in their role. artistic field.
She has participated in television series such as Wanted, The Office, Wainy Days, Unhitched, Parks and Recreation, Black-ish and Angie Tribeca.
