BIOGRAPHY
Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965, in Nelsonville, Ohio, United States. The daughter of Barbara and Stephen, a teacher and a journalist, Sarah was the youngest of four children. She moved to Cincinnati with her mother after her divorce. It was there that she began studying ballet, at the age of eight. Her family would move to New Jersey, where she continued her ballet studies at the American Ballet Theatre. While at that institution, Jessica would appear in several performances, such as The Nutcracker, The Innocents , and, in 1979, she would get her first starring role in the play Annie .

It seemed that the girl would establish herself as a frequent and interesting presence in the theater, but Jessica discovered another stage, cinema, when, at the age of 14, she was invited to participate in an independent film. Although her scenes would be deleted, her participation was enough to present him with an exciting challenge. She debuted on television in the series 3-2-1 Contact (1980), and later participated in series such as Drawing Power (1980) and Square Pegs (1982). It would be her work in the latter that would lead her to join two very popular films of the 80s, first as Rusty, in Footloose (1984) and shortly after as Janey, in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985). Little by little, the actress would begin to form a career in cinema and the offers did not stop coming.

By the 1990s, Sarah would be part of the cast in popular films such as Honeymoon for Three (1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Ed Wood (1994), Rhapsody in Miami (1995), The First Class Club Wives (1996), Mars Attacks (1996), among others. But if her popularity was already notable, the actress would soon become a television and cultural icon when in 1998 Parker was cast as journalist Carrie Bradshaw in the successful television series Sex & the City (1998-2004), where she participated throughout 7 years and 94 episodes. For the series, Sarah Jessica would win four Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy Award and 2 SAG Awards, in addition to becoming one of the highest-paid actresses of those years.

At the end of the series, in addition to two films based on it, Parker would return to the cinema, participating in films such as Smart People (2008), And Where Are the Morgans? (2009), All Roads Lead to Rome (2015), in addition to starring in the series Divorce (2016-2018)
