BIOGRAPHY
Eldest son of the famous actor James Caan, Scott Caan was initially destined for a sporting career before obtaining, at the age of 19, the title role of A Boy Called Hate (1995), a low-budget road movie in which he plays a young delinquent who has just been released from prison. Building on this success, the actor continued his lineage in the independent circuit with the small adventure film Last Resort (1996) or the comedy Bongwater (1997) before joining the actors of Nowhere (1997), the teen movie “under acid” by Greg Araki.
It was in 1998 that the actor began to make himself known to the general public by filming Enemy of the State (1999), his first studio film directed by Tony Scott. The same year, he applied his athletic skills in American Boys , a sports drama starring, among others, James Van Der Beek . After a small return to the independent sector with Saturn (1999), Scott Caan joined the prestigious cast of Black and White (1999), the controversial thriller by James Toback .
Since then, the actor is particularly fond of the detective genre and gangster films since in 2000, he appeared alongside Giovanni Ribisi and Vin Diesel in The Inities . After the western American Outlaws (2001), he shot the cynical thriller Novocaine (2001) before joining Hollywood’s most fashionable burglars in Ocean’s Eleven (2001) by Steven Soderbergh . 2003 marked the year in which the actor went behind the camera for the first time by directing Dallas 362 in which he played the lead role. However, Scott Caan does not deprive himself of starring in the biggest Hollywood productions since after U-Boat: In the Hands of the Enemy (2004), the actor returns to Soderbergh alongside George Clooney and Brad Pitt in Ocean’s Twelve (2004). The following year, he appeared alongside the charming Jessica Alba in Bleu d’enfer and became the cynical and crooked lover of Jennifer Aniston in Friends With Money (2005).
