Sean O’Malley is an American professional mixed martial artist and UFC fighter. He currently competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Also, he is ranked No. 13 in the UFC Bantamweight rankings as of December 13, 2021.
Additionally, he earned a spot in Dana White’s Contender Series 2 after beating Nuzzo and facing off against Alfred Khashakyan. Sean O’Malley: biography, family, career
The MMA star was born on October 24, 1994 as Sean Daniel O’Malley in Helena, Montana, United States of America. He was raised by his father Dan O’Malley, a retired narcotics officer, while there is not much information about his mother. His grandmother is Irish and of mixed ethnicity. In addition, he has the American nationality.
He began his fighting career under the nickname “Sugar” given to him by one of his MMA trainers in Montana early in his career. He first fought in Montana and then moved to fight in North Dakota. Ultimately, he fought for Legacy Fighting Alliance, where he scored a highlight knockout over David Nuzzo. After that, he earned a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series 2. He was later awarded a UFC contract after knocking down Alfred Khashakyan.
On December 1, 2017, his promotional debut was against Terrion Ware at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale winning the fight via unanimous decision. Since then, he has been fighting in the UFC. In addition to his wrestling career, he has co-hosted his own podcast called The Timbo Sugar show along with his friend and head trainer, Tim Welch.
