Shioli was born in Sydney, Australia, she comes from a family of Japanese immigrants. With dual Japanese and Australian nationality, she was raised in the Japanese culture and holds a Christian belief. At the age of 14, she returned to Japan to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.
She graduated from Horikoshi High School in Nakano, Tokyo in 2011, alongside Japanese actresses and models Riko Narumi and Mayuko Kawakita.
While she had initially enrolled in Asian University for her higher education, she was forced to put her studies on hold during her third year due to her demanding acting schedule and the inability to attend classes regularly.

Shiori Kutsuna rose to fame for her role in the Marvel adventure film “Deadpool 2,” based on the comic character of the same name. Her first film appearance was in Shugo Tenshi in 2009, followed by her television debut in the teenage drama Homeroom on the Beachside in 2008, where she played Fujisawa Risa.
She made her cinematic debut in 2009 with Guardian Angel, playing the character Ryoko. The majority of her film appearances have roots in comic books. In 2015, she appeared in 125 Years Memory as Haru/Harumi.
In 2007, Kutsuna made her television debut as Akiko Kanai in Three nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei 8. She also had minor roles in the drama series Taito to Uni no Kyoshitsu. In 2009, she appeared in several manga-based series, including Mei-chan no Shitsuji, 70000 People Detective Nitobe, The Witch Trial, and Shokojo Seira.
Shiori Kutsuna made a name for herself in 2011 with her award-winning role in My Back Pages as Mako Kurata, and also appeared in Three nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei: Final.
