BIOGRAPHY
Shirley MacLaine is an American film, television and theater actress, singer, dancer, activist and author. He is an Academy Award winner, recipient of the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute in 2012, and received the Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts in 2013. His first film was The Third Shot , by Alfred Hitchcock, in 1955 and since then he had a career full of successes. She was nominated six times for an Academy Award: she received a nomination for Best Documentary Feature for The Other Half of the Sky: A China Memoir (1975), and was nominated for Best Actress for Some Came Running (1958), Piso de Bachelor (1960), Irma the Sweet (1963) and Moment of Decision (1977), before winning the statuette for The Force of Affection (1983). She also twice won the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actress, for Billy Wilder’s Ask Any Girl (1959) and The Bachelorette (1960). She was nominated for six Emmy Awards of which she won, in 1976, for Best Comedy Variety Program or Music Special for the television special, Gypsy In My Soul .
