Stephanie March was born Stephanie Caroline March on July 23, 1974 in Dallas, Texas to the family of John Abe March IV and Laura Len. March has German, Dutch, Irish and English origins. She grew up in Dallas with her sister Charlotte. However, her parents divorced when she was young. After the divorce, Laura March married Robert Derby, who became Stephanie’s stepfather. As a child, March attended McCulloch Middle School in Highland Park and Highland Park High School.
She and Law and Order co-star Angie Harmon were contemporaries back in high school. After graduating, she went to Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where she earned a degree in Theater Studies and Hispanic in 1996.
