BIOGRAPHY
Stephen McKinley Henderson spent a year at the University of Lincoln, Missouri and was originally part of Group 1 in the Juilliard School’s Drama Division before leaving. He completed his BFA in Acting at the North Carolina School of the Arts (1972) and later studied at Purdue University, where he received his Master of Arts in Theater in 1977. Although he is primarily known for his work in theater and appeared in different television series, on the big screen he is known for his role as Arthur in the acclaimed HBO film Everyday People (2004). He participated as the White House servant William Slade in the Steven Spielberg film Lincoln (2012), Lester in the film Robbery in the Heights (2011), as Jim Bono in Barriers (2016) by Denzel Washington and as Father Leviatch in Lady Bird (2017). In 2020, Henderson is part of the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s long-awaited new film Dune.
