Susan Mikula is a famous American artist and photographer. She is also known for being an associate of television host, political commentator, and author Rachel Maddow. Susan spent most of her life working as an accountant, while her artwork was featured in various exhibitions as part of group shows.

Susan Mikula: early life, education, career
Susan Mikula was born in 1958, in New Jersey, USA. Mikula grew up in the urban, industrialized part of the city, but her family later moved to a smaller town in New Hampshire. Growing up in a smaller town, she was artistically inclined and even completed color theory courses at Hampshire College in Massachusetts.

He started with photography in the early 2007s, where he gradually developed his own style using old cameras and instant film. His work consisted mainly of old Polaroid cameras and expired film, and this was a key factor in his method. When he looks at the pictures of him, he can get a glimpse of the intuitive mind behind the camera. Susan is not known for post production or even artificial lighting, she just scans and reproduces the Polaroid Print.
In 2008, Susan published her first book ‘Susan Miluka: Photographs . She has also published American Breakbulk #13 and #21 and countless other series of her work at abandoned industrial sites across the country called American Bond. Throughout her career, she has shown her work in numerous exhibitions; alone or in a group. Most recently, in 2017, she was hired by the Art in Embassies program to work for the United States Consulate in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Susan met her life partner Maddow in 1999. Maddow was working on her Ph.D. thesis during that time and needed a lot of work; while Mikula was looking for people to work in her garden. So the pair met and their first meeting was a lot like ‘Desperate Housewives’, as Maddow later recalled. The two eventually went on their first date to an ‘NRA Ladies Day’ event at the Range’.
