Suzy Kolber was born Suzanne Lisa Kolber on May 14, 1964 in Philadelphia. This is where she was raised.
For her education, she first attended Upper Dublin High School and graduated in 1982. From there she proceeded to the University of Miami where she completed a degree in Journalism and Media.
After graduating from college, Kolber worked in West Palm Beach with WPEC-TV in Florida. In this company, she notably held the position of sports anchor and reporter for the week.
She also freelanced for WPLG-TV in Miami and in magazine productions. Cowboys Special Edition and Greyhound Racing America
Her career path was clearly defined when she joined ESPN2 when it launched in 1993. She was a co-host of the SportsNuit network , and it was there that she established herself as one of the first women in the circle and of course, one of the best years of the year.
Before joining the station, she applied to different places including CNN and ESPN and soon she started getting the big calls. “One of the networks that called was CNN, and I interviewed with CNN, but I still really liked ESPN and sent in a tape,” she revealed.
Kolber later got the job at CNN and even verbally accepted the offer, until ESPN offered her a chance, and that’s how she became one of the network’s starting mainstays.
After spending some time there, Suzy joined Fox Sports in November 1996. With the station, she again built a name for herself while managing programs such as Fox Sports News and NFL on Fox.
From Fox, she returned to ESPN where she still works.
Although she has co-hosted “Monday NightCountdown” on the station with Berman for the past two years, it was recently announced that she would be the sole host of the show. In addition, she handles the half-time and post-match Monday Night Football shows.
As part of her achievements, Suzy received the 2016 Maxwell Club Award as Sports Broadcaster of the Year. She was the only woman to have received this award. Additionally, she was included in the 2004 Sports Business Daily magazine as one of the top 10 favorite sports television personalities of the past decade.
