NBC’s history cannot be read without Sy’s name Kravitz being mentioned. He was a famous producer whose talent, according to some people, is defined by the combination of his Jewish and Slavic roots. Even in his old age, when most of his comrades had retired, he was rewarded for his stardom which had done so much for the film industry.

Apart from making a name for himself, Sy Kravitz is also known as the father of famous American singer/songwriter Lenny Kravitz and the grandfather of actress, singer, and model Zoe Kravitz. Although Sy is no longer with us (when he died in 2005), his memory and legacy will live on for a long time.

Sy Kravitz – Biography

Seymour Kravitz, better known as SyKravitz was born on December 10, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. His nationality is American, but his roots are a bit mixed with different ethnic backgrounds, including Jewish and Russian.

Sy was not an only child, he had a younger brother whom he lost during the Korean War. The death of his playmate not only left a hole in his heart, but also in that of the whole family. The family was reassured, however, when their late brother was honored with the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously – or at least the cause for which he died is remembered.

Sy was subsequently to live as an only child. Not much is known about his early education, but it is known that he attended Beverly Hills High School after which he continued his career in filmmaking.

Later, he would climb the ladder of success through hard work. He became a filmmaker and news producer on NBC and made himself one of the most popular movie producers, even in old age.

Sy suffered from leukemia and it was the fatal disease that claimed his life in one of the New York hospitals on October 29, 2005.

His family – Parents, children

Kravitz has American citizenship, but there is really no information about his parents, although it is known that he was born to the same parents as the late Leonard Harold Kravitz.

He married Roxie Roker, an African American in 1962 when he was a teenager. Sadly, the marriage didn’t have a happy ending after the couple broke up in 1985.
