Tatu, the band formed by the Russian singing duo consisting of members Lena Katina and Julia Volkova. Initially, they were part of the children’s music group Neposedy, which was led by producer and director Ivan Shapovalov under the Russian record label Neformat. In 2001, they debuted their first album ‘200 Po Vstrechnoy’ which became a commercial success in Eastern Europe.

Before forming the duet Tatu, Lena Katina and Julia Volkova were in a children’s music group “Neposedy”. In 1999, the musical band tATu formed by Ivan Shapovalov together with Alexander Voitinskiy. After approving ten girls, Lena and Volkova were chosen as they knew before the auditions and were among others. Tatu: dissolution and aftermath
The management of the musical band launched a press conference at the end of March 2011 announcing the dissolution of the band. . Furthermore, he stated that the conflicts between the girls and wanting a solo career led to the band. After the splits, the duo began to focus on their solo careers in both music and acting.
After that, the former member came together to air a special 200km/h re-release of Tatu on Wrong Lane in 2012. In the same year, they came together to appear as musical guests on the reality show ‘The Voice. from Romania’. In 2013, there were rumors that his band would be coming back, however, he stated that they will not reunite. Katina posted a video message that she would not work with Yulia again in 2014. In response to that, Volkova posted a video message saying that there was no big meeting but she had joint Tatu projects.

Julia Volkova : Born February 20, 1985, she is a Russian singer, recording artist, and actress. In 2011, she started her solo career singing with Gala Records. Her solo debut single ‘All Because of You’ released in 2011. After that, she released the worldwide single ‘Did n’t Wanna Do It’ in August 2012. In 2016, she revealed that she almost she lost her voice when she was diagnosed with thyroid. she had cancer in 2012. her larynx was damaged when the tumor was removed. She had a daughter, Viktoria Pavlovna, with her then boyfriend Pavel Sidorov. She later married businessman Parviz Yasinov and had a son Samir in December 2007 in Moscow. But in 2010, she separated from her husband.
Lena Katina : Born on October 4, 1984, she is best known as a Russian singer and songwriter. However, she began her solo career in 2009, which caused the musical duo to go on hiatus. Also, Katina released her first single ‘Never Forget’ in 2011 which reached #1 on MTV Russia Top 10 and won MTV Russia best video. In 2014, she debuted with the album ‘This Is Who I AM’ which came out after her second album in Russian ‘Mono’ in 2019.
Katina had married her boyfriend, Slovenian musician Sash Kuzma, after three years of dating. Together they had welcomed her only child, Aleksandr, in May 2015. But the duo split in November 2019. She is a supporter of the LGBT community.

Controversies:
The musical band has caused controversy for canceling concerts and tours between 2002 and 2004. In 2003, the band’s management was sued by one of its promoters for canceling the concerts citing “numerous insurmountable obstacles”. Mainly their tour and concerts have been canceled due to poor sales and inadequate stage preparation.
The group throughout their career has received criticism, especially after the release of ‘All The Things She Said’. Also, the girls accused of being fake regardless of the impression of being lesbian due to Julia’s pregnancy reports just before her studio album. Although the girls already said in the past that they were not together or in a relationship.
