Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. better known as Tom Brady, the American NFL quarterback plays for the New England Patriots. Brady, who was a four-time Super Bowl MVP (2017), is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen. His success in football as well as his marriage to Brazilian super model Gisele Bundchen made him a popular and celebrated figure not only in America but around the world. His enviable career stats are synonymous with his accolades. Brady’s success on and off the court has combined to give him an estimated net worth of $180 million. And Brady is spending millions of dollars building his own domains from scratch.

Brady and his wife Bundchen and their three offspring live in a mansion in Brookline, Massachusetts, Boston. The family moved here in 2015, just a year after selling their other home in Brentwood Los Angeles, California to rapper Dr. Dre for $40 million, $10 million less than the asking price of $50 million. The couple reportedly spent around $40 million building the home.

To make you understand how this influential couple prefers to live their lives, here is a glimpse of their former home as well as that of Boston.

In 2009, just when Brady had just married Bundchen, the couple was living in a rented apartment in the Brentwood neighborhood of California. They quickly spotted undeveloped land in the neighborhood and decided to buy it. Three years later, in 2012, the couple raised a 14,317 square foot eco-mansion on purchased land. They enlisted the services of Hollywood star architect Richard Landry and interior designer Joan Behnke to help realize their dream home.

In 2013 the couple opened the doors to their eco-mansion to Architectural Digest and although expansive, the features were written with simplicity and warmth. Along with wanting a place big enough to house their large family ( besides three kids, Brady and Bundchen have 8 sisters together ), another reason the couple preferred their custom-built home was because they wanted to live. “in green” (HINT: Bundchen is a United Nations Environment Ambassador). In order to lessen the negative impacts their lives would have on the environment, the couple incorporated recycled materials into the construction of their home.

The house is also powered by two photovoltaic solar panels – now you know why it’s called an eco-mansion. Dr. Dre is now the proud owner enjoying all these green features. The house also includes a moat filled with koi and a chicken coop. Brady and Bundchen, must be those minimalists.

The 14,000 square foot building features 6 bedrooms, a fully equipped gym with custom wrought iron monkey bars, outdoor kitchen, infinity pool with cabana, and on-site pond with waterfall.

While many people have speculated that Brady and his family are going to make their home in Los Angeles permanently, especially after building a dream mansion worth $40 million. The couple left us in denial when they opted for Boston. According to reports, the Patriots quarterback and his family may never have to leave Boston, even after Brady’s fast-approaching retirement. And while the couple didn’t reveal the reason for this surprising choice, we bet it’s a rational choice. Of course, you don’t invest money or energy to build a dream house, only to sell it and leave it within a year.

For their new home in Boston, the couple chose to build on a 5.2-acre plot purchased in 2013 for $4.5 million. Again, they chose Richard Landry for architectural honors.

Unfortunately, there are no interior photos of the new home as the couple have yet to open their doors to public cameras.

However, information from credible sources reveals that the home near the very exclusive Brookline Country Club measures over 300 sq. ft. and features 5 bedrooms with a master suite with his and hers walk-in closet, 4 bathrooms, gym, kitchen, library with balcony, a playground, a wine cellar, a kitchen with pantry, and sun room. The garage includes staff quarters and a nursery, while the pool has a Banja shelf.

Before moving to the Brentwood mansion, Brady lived in a $9.2 million apartment in Boston that he later sold.

Brady in October 2013 purchased a $14 million 3,300 square foot condo at One Madison in Manhattan, New York. Sources say he could swap it out for a larger 5,000 square foot private space, located at 70 Vestry Street, Tribeca. The 14-story building designed by Robert AM Stern would be completed in 2018.

Tom Brady was selected in the 6th round by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft. He has since played for the Boston team. Brady and the Patriots have appeared in 7 Super Bowl games, the most quarterbacks of all time. The team won five, and Brady was named the most valuable player in four (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX and LI). Additionally, he was awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player twice in 2007 and 2010.
