His works in the gospel music genre are dropouts and darlings, but what sets him apart is his fusion of music and a ministry of his own, which he uses to express his passion for spreading the gospel. . He is currently Senior Pastor of Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina alongside his wife, Dr. Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Greene.
Travis Greene’s Bio
The American gospel artist and pastor was born stillborn on January 17, 1984 in Delaware and doctors had to resuscitate him. It wasn’t his only near-death experience as four years after he was born he had to be resurrected again after he fell from a four-story building in Germany.
He then lost his father in 1989 to an aneurysm, so he was raised by his mother whose fondness for music and the gospel influenced Travis Greene from the cradle. His mother was a minister and choir director and made a point of transporting her family.
Of course, Greene shared his mother’s passion for gospel music but waited until 2007 to become a recording artist in the gospel genre. His first offering was released in 2007 under Greenelight Records with the title – The Most. This was followed by a studio album titled Stretching, released on June 8, 2010, under the stable of Pendulum Recordings. The album propelled it to Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart, at No. 27. Some of the songs also reached the magazine’s Top Gospel Songs chart.
In 2015, Greene’s song Intentional peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Songs chart. The track was taken from his extended play of the same title released with RCA Inspiration – the EP took the No. 3 spot on the magazine’s Top Gospel Albums chart. Her second studio album, The Hill, became another chart-topper when it dropped on October 30, 2015 and went straight to No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel charts.
Crossover: Live From Music City is Greene’s third official album released on February 2, 2017. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart as its lead track You Waited commanded the Hot Gospel Songs chart. at No. 1.
Travis Greene has also performed at events including prestigious awards such as the 2017 Stellar Gospel Music Awards where he won seven trophies and at the Essence Music Festival, the Trumpet Awards among others. But he was heavily criticized for agreeing to perform at President Donald Trump’s Inaugural Ball in 2017.
Beyond his successful music career, Travis Greene is also a minister and senior pastor at Forward City Church.

Greene found a perfect match in Dr. Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Greene (née Gyamfi) at Georgia Southern University’s campus ministry (Spirit of Truth), where Jackie was an undergrad and Travis, a graduate of the school, was a constant visitor. They were introduced after Travis ministered in a service and socialized with the congregation. Their relationship did not pick up steam immediately as it took Travis four years to get serious and in December 2011 they sealed their union in a holy marriage. They are parents of two beautiful sons.
In addition to co-pastoring Forward City Church with her husband, Jacqueline is also a dentist and an inspirational speaker committed to helping women deal with the challenges they face in life. Its origins date back to Ghana.
