BIOGRAPHY
Vianney Bureau was born in Pau but grew up in Paris. Her parents are both airplane pilots: her father in the army and her mother in the civilian world (she later became an economics professor). It was by listening to his father singing songs by famous French and American artists that little Vianney began to develop his passion for music. He then took up the guitar and wrote his first texts at the age of 12. Once his baccalaureate (obtained at the Saint-Cyr military high school), Vianney joined the Ecole Supérieure de Gestion (ESG) in Paris. At the same time, he plays and performs his songs in the corridors of the capital’s metro: a difficult but enriching experience.

Eager for new experiences, Vianney went to London where he lived alongside fine arts students who awakened his passion for fashion design. A year later, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Middlesex University and returned to Paris to join the École Supérieure des arts et techniques de la Mode (ESMOD). There he obtained a diploma in Haute-Couture. Alongside his five years of studies, he indulged in one of his other passions: travel. Thus, he travels to different places in Europe with little financial means and often by sleeping with locals.

But it’s truly his favorite song. In 2013, Vianney created his first folk and pop album in the Auvergne mountains: “Idées Blanches”, which includes 12 tracks including the famous piece “Je t’hate”. This first opus went platinum and enjoyed solid public success, selling more than 250,000 copies. His second album, soberly titled “Vianney” because of its autobiographical texts, was released in 2016 and totaled more than 600,000 sales (while winning another award: that of the diamond disc).

Performing concerts, alone or in a duo, the songwriter is quickly recognized by the profession and rewarded for his work. In 2015, he was named in the Révélations des Victoires de la Musique then, a year later, was crowned with the trophy for performing artist of the year at the 2016 Victoires de la Musique. In 2017, Vianney added a new string to

his arc by agreeing to play in his first feature film for the cinema: My mother is crazy , a tender comedy directed by Diane Kurys . Although he had previously refused many offers on the big screen, he wanted to be part of this funny and moving road movie mainly because of the presence of Fanny Ardant . He explains: ” I, who had never acted in my life, felt in her acting something familiar which touched me and with which I wanted to identify… I thought that filming with her would m “inspire and allow me to give the best of myself for this first experience.”
