Born Isaiah Amir Mustafa on February 11, 1974 in Portland Oregon, actor Isaiah grew up in Laguna Hills, California. His parents Shahidah Mustafa-Davis and John Wali Mustafa owned and operated a limo service in this part of California. One of seven children and the youngest of his parents, Isaiah lost his father at an early age. His father died in a car accident while sleeping late one night at the wheel.
He and his family later moved to Mission Viejo, California after his death. He attended Santa Clara High School and attended Santa Monica College. He was later able to transfer to Moorpark College. Isaiah received his college education from Arizona State University, graduating in 1995.
