The Freeform Pretty Little Liars show has given its fans many heartthrobs and one of them is Keegan Allen, whose steamy scenes with Spencer Hastings (played by Troian Bellisario), couldn’t help but satisfy fans. It was Allen’s breakthrough role and it remains his best-known role. It looks like it would stay that way for a while as he kind of switched careers to photography and music. Yup! he is such a talented young man.

Who is Keegan Allen? – Biography (Age and background)

Keegan Phillip Allen was born on July 22, 1987, in California, to Jewish parents Phillip R. Allen and Joan Snyder Allen. Both of his parents had careers in the entertainment industry that fundamentally influenced Keegan. Her father was a stage, film and television actor. His career spanned four decades, from 1965 to 2009. Phillip’s most recognized role came in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) where he portrayed Captain Esteban. Sadly, Keegan’s father passed away on March 1, 2012.

On the other hand, Keegan’s mother was an expression painter. He revealed to About.com that in his typical childhood he played guitar or piano while his parents painted. Although both of his parents were artists, Keegan said he never felt pressured to follow in their footsteps and that had he chosen a career in carpentry, his parents would always have given him their full support.

Keegan’s first love was and remains photography which slowly built up her interest in acting. At age 13, he got his first paid job as a filmmaker in an Animal Plant documentary. The same year, he appeared in the short film Petites urgences.

Despite these first two experiences as an actor, Keegan remains more attracted to photography and cinematography and is increasingly interested in video production. After high school, he enrolled in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009.

However, Keegan found himself back on screens in 2010, when he played the lead role of Toby Cavanaugh in Pretty Little Liars. He reprized his role throughout the show’s seven seasons, which allowed him to skyrocket his celebrity status.

After the curtains fell on Pretty LittleLiars in 2017, Keegan Allen announced that he would focus more on music. His digital single, Million Miles Away, was released on February 1, 2017. At the end of that year, Keegan launched a podcast titled Foreverland, which focused on his life experiences.

In February 2015, Keegan released her first photobook, life.love.beauty. It was a national bestseller. Her second book, Hollywood: Photos and Stories from Foreverland, was released in April 2018.
