Poppy Moyer, the daughter of Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, is an actress who has been in X-Men and True Blood. She is one of Paquin’s twins, who were born in the first months of 2010.

Anna Paquin, star of The Piano, has frequently expressed her desire to protect her children from her career and the media. Although the actress may not be the first to have this opinion about her children, she may be one of the few to provide some justifications for why she feels their lives are better off off the radar of the general public.

In April 2012, word spread that Paquin was expecting Poppy and her twin brother. Poppy Moyer and her brother Charlie Moyer were welcomed by the X-Men star on September 12, 2012, five months after their arrival.

Although Anna and her husband have not revealed the true origins of Poppy and Charlie’s names, it is believed that their father’s English ancestry played a role in at least some of the names’ popularity in that country.

John Paquin did not speak about the birth of his daughter Poppy Moyer for almost a year. Paquin kept much information about the births of his son Charlie and his daughter Poppy hidden for a long time.

The New Zealand actress hid the names and genders of her children for a long time. Only on June 11, 2013, during the season 6 premiere of True Blood, the New Zealand actress’s husband, Moyer, revealed that he had given birth to twin boys and girls.

The couple’s ability to hide their children’s names for nine full months came as nothing short of a surprise to many.

Moyer initially responded that he and his then-10-year-old daughter Lily (from a previous relationship) were headed to sleepaway camp when E! News questioned him about his plans for Father’s Day. The interviewer was surprised when he said that he would also spend his weekends “hanging out with Charlie and Poppy.”

While Poppy and Charlie were Paquin’s first children, Moyer already had two children: Lilac, a daughter by his ex-partner Lorien Haynes, and Billy Moyer, a son by his ex-wife. However, the actor has not revealed the identity of his ex-spouse.

The union of Moyer and Paquin, Poppy’s parents, took place in Malibu, California, on August 21, 2010.

When they both attended the True Blood audition for HBO’s vampire drama series, Paquin and Moyer became friends. From 2008 to 2014, Poppy’s parents played Sookie and Bill on the series.

They were both single at the time, according to Paquin’s British husband, and there was a spark between them.

The Modern Love actress and her husband decided they would never allow Poppy, 9, and her twin brother to watch True Blood while speaking to ET in December 2021.

Charlie Moyer and Poppy Moyer, both shown in the photo above, are unable to watch the HBO series True Blood, according to Poppy Moyer’s mother, Anna Paquin.

When asked which of their TV shows or movies are completely banned, Paquin and her boyfriend said: “American Underdog,” which is scheduled for release in 2021.

According to her husband, Paquin said they “never” allow Poppy and her brother to see anything that involves their parents. It seems that both have decided on this position.

Paquin went on to say that because the children are minors, she and her husband have deliberately kept them out of this part of their lives.

However, Poppy and her brother are allowed to view some of Paquin and her spouse’s content. The Academy Award winner mentioned her sports drama film, American Underdog, when she talked about “No True Blood Ban,” adding that she let her children watch it.

She acknowledged that her children had enjoyed the film and expressed how wonderful it had been for them to see their mother on screen.

Why aren’t Poppy Moyer and Charlie Moyer?

The now 39-year-old actress reportedly simply prefers Paquin and Moyer’s children to stay out of the spotlight, which is why fans haven’t seen much of them.

When asked how she and her English partner decided to keep their twins out of the spotlight, Paquin once explained. The Amistad actress emphasized that she and her husband intentionally kept their personal and professional lives separate, in part due to the young age of their children.

“I want to have the ability to declare that they are prohibited.” Stay away from my puppies, said the Golden Globe nominee. Paquín continued:

Everyone makes decisions based on what is best for their family. There are certain non-revealing, adorable and pleasant aspects of private life.

The Columbia University alumnus stated that after this, “I won’t find any photos of my kids.”

Anna claimed she has always been cautious about revealing too much about her real life, despite being widely known since impressively winning an Oscar as a child for her performance as Flora in The Piano.

She admitted to being a very private person during a conversation with Today Parents and that she doesn’t want people to know too much about her real inner life away from the camera.
